Kuna Highlights

The city of Kuna is located 18 miles southwest of Boise and directly south of Meridian. What was once a small farming community has grown to become one of the fastest growing cities in Idaho.  With easy access to Boise, Nampa and Meridian, Kuna has become a bedroom suburb with nice subdivisions and plenty of open space.  Horse farms dot the landscape and main street features quaint shops and restaurants.

According to the 2006 Census, the population of Kuna was just over 11,000 - doubling in size since 2000.

Kuna is the home to the Snake River Birds of Prey National Conservation Area managed by the Bureau of Land Management. This area encompasses almost 600,000 acres and hosts about 800 pairs of falcons, eagles, hawks and owls that come here each spring to mate and raise their young. The best time to view raptors is from mid-March through June during morning and early hours. Numerous other recreation opportunities are available such as camping, boating, fishing, hiking, picnicking, hunting, OHV riding, and scenic/wildlife viewing. A developed campground is located at Cove Recreation Site and primitive camping is available throughout the area.

As of 3rd quarter 2008, the median home price in Kuna was $165,000 (IMLS) making it very affordable for first-time buyers as well as those looking for larger homes on acreage.
